Saw Dougie MacLean at The Ark last night. Great show! He's a very down-to-earth person, and tells a good story. Sadly, he was sick, so his voice (and second set) ended early. Early in the evening, he called it a bad head cold, but by the end, he was calling it the flu. He still sounded great, and was nice enough to stay around a while for pictures(*) and autographs. 

Songs included "Caledonia" and "Ready For The Storm"; both of them have become popular enough that many people don't know he wrote them. :-)

 anderyn has a pretty good write-up on her LJ -- she reviews folk music for one of the local newsprint periodicals.  In fact, she was there last night on "official business".

(*) I hate cell phone cameras. Really hate 'em. Honestly, friends, I still have all my front teeth and they do not stick out. If anything, they stick *in* a bit.

 

 If there is one person or more on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

Online friendships actually predate the Internet -- mrz80 and suemac are friends from BITnet, which came along a good while before. (Ask them about online relationships! :-)  Come to think of it, many (most?) ham radio operators have friendships with people they've never met in person, and have been doing so for the better part of a century. 

1. Reply to this post, saying you would like to play, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee

Finally, to answer mrz80 's question...yes, I do in fact have a number of cheese related userpics.  There's probably some deep psychological thing about Green Bay, Golden Retrievers, and growing up in the shadow of Wisconsin. That'll have to wait for later. Right after I learn to play the bouzuki.
